This past week, California based band Radical Something released their new single “Cheap Drink” in honor of their East Coast tour titled Summer of Love.

The band performed “Cheap Drink” last night at Santo’s Party House in New York City, a sexy, sultry summer jam fit for hot summer nights. For a single that dropped only five days prior, every one in the crowd knew the words and were singing along to the new jam.

The show, of which Lost Hearts, Morning Sun & The Essentials and Kinetics & One Love opened for was a laid back mesh of hippie lovin’ and hipster wearing young adults. Each band contained that laid back summer vibe, mixing reggae roots with rap and DJ duos.

Radical Something immediately connected with the audience, interacting with them the entire way through their set. They handed out free glow sticks to the crowd, giving away the shirts off their backs and their hats during the set. Even when one lucky fan managed to sneak her way onto the stage the members embraced her, letting her live out her five minutes of fame before security escorted her off the stage and back to the crowd.

Before rapper Lost Hearts opened the night up, below the main stage there was a VIP meet and greet with Radical Something occurring. They sold their meet and greets for only $35 a pop which included a two free posters, a free CD, as many stickers as your heart desires and an exclusive acoustic set. They performed a never-before heard single off their new upcoming album just for the VIP ticket-holders. Each person with a meet and greet got about five to ten minutes with the band, who took the time to get to know each and every person who approached them. Despite the hectic pre-show bustle going on around them all three members seemed to have all the time in the world to talk to their fans.

Radical Something is continuing their Summer of Love tour in Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles over the next few weeks. You can download their music for free on their official Facebook page.
