Fighting words with words! If you are one of Rihanna's over 7 million followers on Instagram, you already know she wasn't feeling too peachy this morning. After a British paper published a brutally harsh article directed at the the multi-platinum singer, she herself then took a jab at the articles author, Liz Jones.
The article was published by Jones in The Daily Mail with the title "Pop's poisonous princess: Glorying in drugs, guns and sleaze, Rihanna's toxic role model for her army of young fans." Jones blasted the 25-year-old for varying reasons: her relationship with Chris Brown following the 2009 domestic abuse incident, her provocative Instagram posts, her wardrobe or lack there of, her gange-loving ways, even the manner in which the starlet coped with grandmothers death last year. The journalist claims to have met Rihanna on two separate occasions and despite the Bajan's positive attributes, she states "I don’t care if [Rihanna] has the voice of an angel and is self-made, feisty and confident." What Liz Jones does care about is the supposed messages she believes Rihanna's wadrobe suggests, calling it "the sort of fashion sense on stage that surely invites rape at worst, disrespect at least."

Such accomplishments, like landing the cover of Vogue this past November, are belittled by Jones when she cites that Ri cozied up to Vogue editor Anna Wintour to land a "high-end fashion advertising campaign of the kind Ms Wintour can facilitate." Rihanna, real name Robyn Fenty, was able to point out in her comment back, "P.S. my first American Vogue cover was in 2011...APRIL!!!!"
After the bashing Fenty received, the star decided to post a less than flattering photo of the journalist to spit back the fire. She began with "LOL!!!! My money got a bad habit of pissing people off!!" Although the Grammy winner has a large fan following (referred to as her "Navy") she points out that she is still has her own person dealing with the same struggles as every one else. She writes: "Nobody over here acts like they're perfect! I don't pretend that I'm like you, i just live... My life!! And I don't know why y'all still act so surprised by any of it!! 'Role Model' is not a position or title that I have ever campaigned for, so chill wit dat! I got my own f****d up s**t to work on, I'll never portray that as perfect, but for right now it's ME!!"
According the MTV.com. Jones has yet to respond to Rihanna's post. Coincedentally, Ri is in the UK at this time, where she is extremely popular (she sold out London's Twickenham stadium June 15th and 16th).
