Sandra Bullock is reportedly in the early stages of negotiations to appear in Jay-Z and Will Smith’s Annie remake. The Oscar winner is in discussions to play the famous Miss Hannigan.

Oscar nominee Quvenzhane Wallis has been cast to play Annie, replacing Smith’s daughter Willow Smith who dropped out of the titular role. Django Unchained’s Jamie Foxx will play Benjamin Stack. Smith and Jay-Z will produce.

Two sources close to the situation confirmed to The Wrap that Bullock is in early negotiations. Carol Burnett played Miss Hannigan in 1982 film.

Will Gluck will be directing, while Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment partners James Lassiter and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith will help produce. Jay Brown and Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith will also be producing, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Back in March, negotiations started with Bullock, but she passed. Now, negotiations have started again. Sony hopes to get the project ready for a 2014 release.

Bullock will next appear in The Heat opposite Melissa McCarthy.
