Sarah Palin is rejoining Fox News Channel as a contributor after parting ways back in January.

Network Chairman and Chief Executive, Roger Ailes, said that the former Alaska governor will be returning to the news network’s daytime and primetime programming, according to The Wall Street Journal.

"I've had several conversations with Governor Palin in the past few weeks about her rejoining Fox News as a contributor," Ailes said today. "I have great confidence in her and am pleased that she will once again add her commentary to our programming."

This differed from a statement from Ailes back in 2011 when he told press he hired Palin “because she was hot and got ratings."

According to The Huffington Post, Palin’s contract was not renewed in January after working for Fox as a contributor for three years. Part of the non-renewal may have had something to do with Palin’s original $1 million a year contract when she signed on in 2010 after being the Republican vice presidential candidate alongside John McCain in his run for the presidency in 2008.

Palin’s national celebrity status helped her turn her failed candidacy into a media career with a paid contributor job at Fox. She also wrote two New York Times bestsellers, and was on Time magazine's “100 Most Influential People” list in 2010.

According to Fox News coverage of Palin’s return, she believes “The power of Fox News is unparalleled," and "The role of Fox News in the important debates in our world is indispensable. I am pleased and proud to be rejoining Roger Ailes and the great people at Fox."

Now that she is renewed, Palin will reappear on Fox’s daytime and primetime programming, first on Fox & Friends this coming Monday. She will be considered a contributor to the Fox Business Network as well.
