Sharp was raised in the state of Alabama. She is the youngest child with three older brothers. Sharp credits her musical influences to Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos and Ani DiFranco. All of these talented women have a different and distinct sound but Sharp is able to imitate and express herself in the unique musical combination.
Sharp started to perform at local coffee houses, downtown drag queen bars and college frat parties in Alabama. She was seeking to gain more with her talent and knew Alabama was on the beginning.
In 1999 Sharp took a bold move to the glamorous world of New York City. She ventured into the world of acting and music as she embarked on her educational journey. Sharp is still in New York and currently resides in Harlem.
This Southern Belle returns to her roots in SilverLiningsUnderGrey. The combination of folk, blues and alternative country flows effortlessly in each track.
About the album Sharp said, “This new album I feel really shows how I’ve evolved as a person and a musician. I wanted to focus on what could be in my writing and what I wanted for myself. I wanted to believe in hope and passion. So what started out being songs based in thought or wish became songs of my everyday reality."
