Star Magazine is defending their decision to publish a story with Leyla Ghobadi, who claims that she had sex with the rapper twice during his relationship with Kim Kardashian.
The French-Canadian model made the claims earlier this week, stating that she was picked out of crowd and approached by West’s bodyguards to have a drink with the “Stronger” rapper after the show. She also claimed that West reached out to her last week in the hopes of having one last rendezvous before the birth of his child with Kardashian.
Despite the fact that the claims were slammed by West’s representative, who called Ghobadi “a misguided individual seeking publicity,” the magazine is standing by their story.
“A friend of Leyla’s approached us about it and we reached out to Leyla and we spoke to her about,” Star Editor Matt Coppa defends according to Fox News. “She was feeling bad because originally when they were together, Kanye had told her that him and Kim were not serious, that they were just together for publicity to increase their fan bases, so she didn’t feel guilty about sleeping with him. But once she found out that Kim was pregnant, she obviously had reservations.”
Coppa continued claiming that West reached out Ghobadi to hook up for “the weekend June 7th through June 9th where Kanye was going to be in New York City for the Governor’s Ball. “ He also claims that he has phone records as evidence to support the story.
In addition to West’s rep slamming the story, Karadshian’s best friend Jonathan Cheban states that Kim was at the concert in question as was he. Still Coppa maintains that Cheban is only coming forward to defend his friend’s empire.
“They will go after every outlet they can and they’ll use all the people that they know to sort of defend themselves in every sort of situation,” Coppa defends.
