A stunt plane crashed at the annual Vectren Dayton Air Show in Ohio on Saturday, killing both the pilot and the wing walker.

The wing walker, named Jane Wicker according to the Huffington Post, was on the plane at the time of the crash.

The 450 HP Stearman exploded around 12:45 pm, reports CBS News.

The plane exploded as it hit the ground, witnesses have said.

Ian Hoyt, an aviation photographer and pilot of Findlay, Ohio, witnessed the event.

“I realized they were too low and too slow. And before I knew it, they hit the ground,” said Hoyt, who also speculated that the plane stalled and didn’t have enough airspeed.

“All of a sudden I heard screaming and looked up and there was a fire ball,” said witness Stan Thayer.

“I noticed it was upside-down really close to the ground; she was sitting on the bottom of the plane,” said Shawn Warwick, who was watching the plane through binoculars.

“I saw it just go right into the ground and explode.”

“I'm never nervous or scared because I know if I do everything as I usually do, everything's going to be just fine,” Jane Wicker said in an interview with WDTN-TV.
