The Replacements are reuniting to play three shows since their last performance in Chicago on July 4, 1991.

The band confirmed they will perform at Rio Fest in Chicago, Toronto, and Denver according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Riot Fest advertised a mystery slot with “????” on the posters since the lineup was announced a month ago.

There were hints of the Minnesota native band getting back together via the Riot Fest Twitter account. The tweet that was later deleted said, “holy [expletive]. We’re getting the band back together. #riotfest.”

Earlier this year Paul Westerberg, Tommy Stinson, and Chris Mars released an EP titled Songs for Slim for former guitarist Slim Dunlap, who suffered a stroke last year according to Consequence of Sound.

The first night is in Toronto on August 24, the Chicago Riot Fest is from September 13 to 15 and the Denver shows will take place on September 21 and 22. There are no details on who will be backing the remaining members, Westerberg and Stinson, at the shows.
