Vocalist of Christian metalcore band, As I Lay Dying, Tim Lambesis’ court date was set for September 16 during his first court appearance for ‘felony readiness.’
This past May, Lambesis was arrested for attempting to hire an undercover detective to kill his estranged wife. The arrest created uproar among As I Lay Dying fans nationwide.
When asked if he wanted to plead guilty, and skip trial, Lambesis kept his plea of not guilty without hesitation.
The court decided that Lambesis was a low flight risk. He is currently free on bail and staying at his home in San Diego, Calif.
As a result of the arrest, the rest of the band was forced to cancel their tour with Killswitch Engage and all the other shows they scheduled for the month of August in Europe.
“Given the circumstances, we feel that it is best for the band to be off the road while the current situation gets sorted,” said band members, Jordan, Nick, Phil, and Josh in a statement on Facebook. “We'd like to thank all of our fans for their ongoing support at this difficult time.”
