Into The Darkness is a paranormal romance book by Amberly Evans. It is the first book from the Darkness Series. Evans was born and raised in California but moved to Utah and is a mother of ten children. Evans has been writing all her life but she has focused on writing love stories. Into The Darkness follows the two main characters of the book Mia Carrigan and Nick White. Mia has always been different from the rest with her gypsy blood she has the ability to see visions, spirits, and sense other peoples emotions. She was orphaned at the age of 13, her family was very rich, and Mia soon realized that people were only after her money, even her family.
All Mia wants is to feel loved, the unconditional love that her parents showed her. Since she is from money, Mia is often alone and guarded since people only want to use her. Mia is grateful for her parents leaving her a fund and is humble, generous and a sweet soul but sometimes resents the fact that people only need her for her money.
Nick White is an NYPD homicide detective who has turned away from his Cherokee heritage. He hasn’t gone back to the reservation in years and refuses to embrace that part of his identity. Nick even changed his last name from White Cloud to White to break away from his Native American roots. He isn’t a man who believes in supernatural occurrences or anything you can’t see. For Nick ‘seeing is believing’ and if he can’t touch it or arrest it then it’s not real. Once he meets Mia she makes him realize that not everything in the world is black and white.

Mia is haunted and tormented by an evil demonic spirit she calls ‘Man.’ Nick doesn’t believe it until he experiences his presence since ‘Man’ is possessive over Mia. Nick and Mia engage in a relationship and struggle to keep it alive. Nick comes to terms with Mia’s psychic ability and refuses to lose her to the ‘Man.’ It’s a heart stopping romance story that will make you start being afraid of the dark.
