American Idol’s Allison Iraheta formed a band called Halo Circus and has signed a new record deal.
The Season eight American Idol teen contestant is now 21-years-old and married. Her new band consists of guitarist David Immerman, drummer Valerie Franco, and her husband, Matthew Hager according to Rolling Stone.
Allison was dropped from Jive Records after her solo album failed to make it on the charts.
“It was hard. That’s why I took a break . . . I think after getting dropped, you’re up her for a pretty long time and then just out of nowhere you’re down here. . . and it’s terrifying because you’re like, ‘Wait a minute. I had this much and within the blink of an eye, everything’s gone. So can I do this? Can I handle it?’” Allison said.
Halo Circus have signed with Manimal Vinyl, which included other artists Bat Fro Lashes, Rainbow Arabia, and Warpaint.
The band’s first single will be titled “Gone.” Other versions of the song include one in Spanish, Allison’s native language, a radio edit and a stripped-down version.
Halo Circus has nine songs completed and are working one more according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The band’s first single will be available on iTunes and Spotify on Oct. 8. Their full-length is expected to be released in early 2014.
