Anthony Weiner is still running for the New York mayor’s office, despite new revelations that he never stopped sexting even after he resigned from Congress. The latest blow to his efforts to stay in politics came when his campaign manager quit, leaving no one to run what is already a sinking ship.

The New York Times reported Saturday that Danny Kedem is no longer running Weiner’s campaign, citing two sources. During a campaign stop Sunday, Weiner did acknowledge Kedem’s decision, but vowed to keep going.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Weiner didn’t say exactly why Kedem left and Kedem hasn’t commented. Weiner still says that his campaign can propel him to a victory when New Yorkers head to the polls.

However, since the latest revelations went public, he has started sinking in the polls, even among Democrats. His main competition, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, lead among Democrats 22 percent to 16 percent in last week’s Wall Street Journal/NBC 4 New York/Marist College poll.

Quinn has continued to slam Weiner for his antics, telling NBC Sunday that he has shown a “pattern of reckless behavior, an inability to tell the truth and a real lack of maturity or responsibility.” She not only cited his scandals, but also brought up his record in Congress.

The Democratic primary is set for Sept. 10 and the top pick must get 40 percent in order to move on to the general election. If not, there were be a run-off on Oct. 1 between the top two vote-getters.
