Anthony Weiner, the Democratic mayoral candidate for New York City, was involved in another scandal about inappropriate online behavior, this time causing his campaign manager to resign.
Weiner, 48, says that despite these latest revelations revealed about him, he will not drop out of the race but is not sure who will replace Danny Kedem as his campaign manager.
This past week, conversations surfaced between Weiner and an Indiana college student. Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, stood by him as he admitted to his behavior.
According to Washington Post, Weiner also admitted to exchanging lewd messages with three other women, but claims that this type of behavior is behind him.
For the past two months, Weiner was ahead of his rival candidate, Christine Quinn, for the upcoming Mayoral primary Sept. 10, After these recent allegations surfaced, Weiner’s poll numbers dropped significantly.
“Citizens have to decide for themselves whether this personal behavior, when one thing happened or it didn’t happen, is important to them. All I am saying is that these things were personal in nature,” Weiner said Thursday, Yahoo reports. “I have worked them out between me and my wife and ... they‘ve been behind me. They’ve been behind me for some time now. And it wasn’t until they were behind me that I decided to run for mayor. I understand that might not be a satisfying answer for some people.”
