Great news for Arcade Fire fans: the Canadian band’s upcoming still-untitled album will be released on October 29th.

According to the Rolling Stone website Arcade Fire shared the news with a fan via Twitter.

The Grammy Award winning band began recording the new album in March with James Murphy at DFA Records’ New York studio. Murphy told Rolling Stone “I think it’s going to be a really great record, actually.” The producer was even surprised with the outcome of the band’s recording saying, “They’re mostly self-produced—like, they don’t need a producer in a certain way. So I didn’t know how it would go.”

In another Rolling Stone article it was reported that Arcade Fire performed a few of their new songs, which apparently have a “dance-y” feel to them.

The Suburbs, the band’s last album, was awarded Exclaims! No. 1 Pop and Rock Album of 2010, and according to Writer Andrea Warner, the symphony of various noises and instruments created the sound of a “controlled frenzy, pushing and reaching for something more.”

Hopefully Arcade Fire is reaching for a sound that their fans will love on their next album.
