Hollywood is so sure that Lance Armstrong’s fall from grace is worthy of turning into a movie that a third biopic on the cyclist is in the works. The new project already has a director - Stephen Frears - and an actor - Ben Foster - attached.

Frears, who is best known for The Queen and High Fidelity, is working with Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner to make his own biopic on Armstrong, from his rise to fame to his seven Tour De France titles and finally to when he admitted to doping. According to Deadline, which just reported on the project today, Trainspotting writer John Hodge is working on the screenplay.

The site later updated to report that Ben Foster is in the last stages of negotiations to play Armstrong in the film. He is a rising star, appearing in Kill Your Darlings and Ain’t Them Bodies Saints this year. His other work includes Contraband and The Messenger.

This project is different from the one that JJ Abrams and Paramount are working on that was once rumored to be starring Bradley Cooper (who called that idea “nuts”). There is also another project from Warner Bros. that Game Change director Jay Roach is doing with Atlas’ Charles Roven and Alex Gartner producing.

Sony Pictures Classics is also going to release The Armstrong Lie documentary.
