A week and a half ago the tracklist was revealed for the Young Money teams new album "Rich Gang" and it was very evident that Drake was not going to appear on the album. One day after the albums release Birdman explained the international superstars absence.
Typically when a hip hop label plans to put out a collaborative project, they like to feature their stars. The stars of Young Money are Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Drake. Wayne appears on the album numerous times, and Nicki is on the lead single Tapout. When Birdman, co founder of YMCMB (Young Money Cash Money Billionaires), was asked about Drakes absence he said that he was overseas working on his solo album, Nothing Was The Same, which is set to release September 17 according to XXL.
Many people questioned the fact that Drake didn't appear on his crews album, but his enemy, Chris Brown, who is not signed to the label, made an appearance. Birdman shot that down and said he has nothing to do with that beef, and "knows nothing about their differences" reports Hotnewhiphop.
Birdman did say in the interview that Drake sent some music over for the Rich Gang album, but he decided to hold on to it for the Big Tymers Album, that he Drake, and Lil Wayne will be working on saying "I think it'll be even more special."
Birdman said to expect a single from the new Big Tymers album in the coming months. Rich Gang is available for purchase now.
