A speedboat crashed into a barge Friday night in the Hudson River in New York, leaving two people missing and four seriously injured. Among the six passengers aboard the boat, a bride-to-be and the best man were missing after the crash.
The boat was going for a short trip from Piermont to Tarrytown when the boat crashed into a lit-up barge near the Tappan Zee Bridge.
The missing woman, 30-year-old Lindsey Stewart, had an Aug. 10 wedding planned. A woman’s body was found in the water soon after that fits the description of Stewart.
The other missing person, 30-year-old Mark Lennon, was supposed to be the best man in the wedding. His body has not yet been found.
According to NBC the other four passengers on the boat suffered from severe injuries such as head trauma and broken bones. Among them is the groom-to-be, 36-year-old Brian Bond, who is in fair condition but is not yet able to speak.
Jojo K. John, 35, of Nyack, was driving the boat. He has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and vehicular assault, Fox reports.
Police have not yet confirmed if alcohol was a factor in the crash or not.
