Bruce Springsteen played tribute to Trayvon Martin at his show in Ireland on Saturday night, playing "American Skin (41 Shots)" and dedicating it to the fallen teen days after George Zimmerman’s not guilty verdict.

The rocker originally wrote the song in 1999 for Amadou Diallo when he was shot to death by police officers. Lyrics include “Is it a gun, is it a knife/Is it a wallet, this is your life/It ain't no secret/It ain't no secret/No secret my friend/You can get killed just for living/In your American skin.”

A Star-Ledger reporter’s friend was at the show in Ireland, and recalled him seeing a sign early in the show for the song.

"He said, 'Where is that sign?' and grabbed it. He then said, 'I want to send this one out as a letter back home. For justice for Trayvon Martin,' " said the concert-goer.

USA Today reports Springsteen both opened and closed his concert in Limerick with “This Little Light of Mine.”
