It is with a heavy heart that we must confirm the death of Glee star, Cory Monteith, 31. The actor was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room Saturday room night and was alone. No indication of foul play has been reported.

Cory Montieth rose to fame playing the lovable character of Finn Hudson on Fox’s, “Glee.” In April, he had admitted himself to a treatment facility for "substance addiction" and asked for privacy as he took steps toward recovery. His on-screen and real-life girlfriend, Lea Michele, was supportive of the star and helped him the throughout his recovery.

This tragedy has definitely shocked Hollywood this morning, and fans world over. Many have taken to Twitter to share their condolences to his family and friends.
Stars like Christina Perri shared: “just woke up to the news of cory monteith’s death. my heart is completely broken. sending all my love and prayers to his family + loved ones.” Many others are reminding people of what a nice and funny guy he was.

People reports that the actor had checked into his hotel room on July 6 and was due to check out on July 13th. He was out with friends Friday night and returned to his room in the early morning hours.

Police officials assigned to the scene shared, "There were others with Mr. Monteith in his room earlier (Friday) night, but video and fob key entries show him returning to his room by himself in the early morning hours and we believe he was alone when he died." The cause of death was not immediately apparent, and an autopsy was set for Monday. Police also told media, "When he missed his check-out time, staff went to the room at noon and found his body.” He had been dead for several hours by the time his body was discovered.

Vancouver police also made it apparent that there will be considerable interest in the case. Detectives are examining the scene, and a hotel video has been secured.

According to Billboard , Monteith received treatment for substance abuse when he was 19 and had previously talked about his addiction struggles. He once said he had a serious problem and took just "anything and everything." After completing rehab, he told Parade magazine he was “lucky to be alive.”

One thing is for sure, Glee will never be the same. The news of his death comes as a shock and is heartbreaking for many. The handsome star will be greatly missed.
