The Florida couple that was reportedly helped by George Zimmerman when their SUV flipped over has decided not to hold a press conference and go public with their story.

The Associated Press reports that Mark and Dana Gerstle were planning on speaking at the offices of Mark O’Mara, the attorney who represented Zimmerman during his trial in the death of Trayvon Martin. However, Shawn Vincent, a spokesman for O’Mara, told the AP that the couple has decided not to speak out. Instead, they would rather retain their privacy.

News about Zimmerman’s assistance broke when ABC News reported Monday that Zimmerman helped the Gerstles and their two children last Thursday in Sanford, Florida at 5:45 pm. They were trapped in their blue Ford Explorer SUV on the highway and Zimmerman and another man came to help.

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office said that the two men, including Zimmerman, were there when the police arrived. The crash site was only a mile away from where Zimmerman shot Martin.

There were no injuries reported and Zimmerman left after he spoke with a deputy.

Zimmerman was found not guilty in the death of Martin, 17, who was killed in February 2012. Since the verdict on July 13, there have been protests and even a statement from President Obama.
