Dave Matthews isn’t too proud to hitch a ride with fans to his own show, as he proved on Saturday night. The singer was stranded on the side of a road in Pennsylvania before his Hersey Park concert and when two fans spotted him, they gave him a ride to the venue.
Emily Kraus was driving to the concert with her boyfriend when they passed Matthews, who was stranded with no cell phone and a broken bike.
"So, we saw him on the other side of the road and we pulled my car in here. And he picks up his bike and throws it up here,” Kraus told WHPTV.
She continued, "So we didn't know how to make conversation with him in fact, so we were talking about his tour and where he had come from. He had just been in Cincinnati and he said I'm taking a short break after this one because I have to drop my daughters off at camp and he was just a very humble guy.”
Kraus wrote on the CBS affiliate’s Facebook page, “My cheeks still hurt from smiling, giggling and laughing all night long..this will always be remembered.”
Matthews invited Kraus and her boyfriend to dinner with him but they declined, saying they felt out of place. But they did go backstage and get to watch the show from the front row.
