The first trailer for David O. Russell’s American Hustle has hit the web, just a day after the first images were released.

In the trailer, released by ABC News, we see Christian Bale - decked out in full 1970s gear - telling a dumbfounded Bradley Cooper that a painting hanging on the wall in a museum is a fake. “People believe what they want to believe,” says Bale. “‘Cause the guy who made this is so good, that it’s real to everybody. So now who’s the master?”

There’s also scenes with Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams and a shot of Jeremy Renner, who is making his Russell debut with American Hustle. In between, there’s the tagline - “Only in America.”

The film is fictional, but based on the 1970s FBI ABSCAM sting, which brought down government officials and members of the mob.

Just yesterday, USA Today shared two stills, including one of the scene with cooper and Bale in the museum and another with Aams and Bale.

Bale and Adams previously worked with Russell on The Fighter, which won Bale an Oscar. The director also featured Cooper and Lawrence in Silver Linings Playbook, also directing Lawrence to an Oscar.

American Hustle hits theaters on Dec. 13 and goes wide on Dec. 25.
