Singer/songwriter Elton John as postponed dates in his upcoming European Tour after being diagnosed with appendicitis.

According to E! News, a rep for the “Rocket Man” singer released a statement on the award winning singers official website.

“Following a number of exploratory scans and blood tests with his medical team in the UK, a diagnosis of appendix abscess surrounding retrocaecal appendicitis has been confirmed," the statement reads. John has been advised by his doctors to postpone all performances and appearances until the toxins and swelling subsides.

It is unclear when John will announce make up dates. Refunds are currently available for this Friday’s performance where John was slated to headline at London’s Hyde Park. Refunds are currently available on the London Hyde Park’s official website.

The Grammy Award winning singer reportedly performs around 120 concerts a year. He is expected to undergo surgery at a time his doctors feel is safest to go in a further attack the appendicitis.
