Florence Welch of Florence and The Machine covered Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” in London on July 19.
The song was unplanned when Welch sang it with Sourberry at a party in south London NME reports.
“It was the annual Sourberry summer party and Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine was in attendance. She hopped up on stage during our sound check and rocked out a couple of numbers with us while we warmed up. ‘Get Lucky’ – Daft Punk and ‘Standing in the Way of Control’ – The Gossip. So let’s raise the bar and our [tequila shot] to the stars,” Sourberry wrote.
According to SPIN Welch is known for having a cocktail here and there. One of her hits, “Shake It Out” was about a hangover and a hotel room that was almost burned down.
Welch most recent work includes her recording new material titled “Over The Love” for The Great Gatsby soundtrack, which was produced by Jay-Z. The soundtrack also featured songs from The xx, Jack White, Lana Del Rey, and Beyoncé.
