Frank Ocean was forced to cancel the remainder of his Australian tour after suffering a tear in his vocal cord.

New York Daily News reports that after finishing his performance at the Melbourne’s Festival Hall, Ocean sought medical treatment after feeling a significant amount of discomfort in his throat. Following his doctor’s visit, he was advised to rest his vocal cords or risk permanent damage.

Shortly after learning the news a statement regarding future cancellations was released by Live Nation via Billboard. “After last night's concert ... it was necessary to seek medical advice due to vocal issues Frank Ocean experienced during the show. It has subsequently been confirmed that Frank has suffered a small tear to one of his vocal cords and has received medical advice that he must rest his voice."

Ocean’s performances in Sydney, Byron Bay and his performance at the Splendour in the Grass have been cancelled. It is unclear if Ocean plans to reschedule after he recuperates.
