Franz Ferdinand posted a video for their new single “Right Action.”

Jonas Odell, who also directed the Scottish band’s video for 2004’s “Take Me Out” according to NME, directed the video. The two videos have a similar style.

The video shows the band playing while textbook instruction manuals come to life as their lyrics flash across the screen. The books were inspired by the graphic style of Psychology, Sociology, and Anthropology books in the 50s to early 80s.

Joe Goddard and Alexis Taylor produced “Right Action”. It is the lead single off the bands fourth album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action. The album will feature Veronica Falls’ Roxanne Clifford, Todd Terje, and Bjorn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John.

The band also released “Love Illumination” as a double A-side single in late June.

Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action is set for release on Aug. 27, which makes it four years since they have released a full length album.

Pitchfork reports the “Passport Edition” of the album comes with the album featured on double vinyl, the album on CD, and an extra 7” with new songs not on the album, a bonus 12”, and four postcards featuring each member of the band.
