Gabriel’s Inferno is by NY Times and USA Today best selling author Sylvain Reynard. Reynard writes literature, fiction and romance novels and gains inspiration from Medieval and Renaissance literature.
The book is about Professor Gabriel Emerson who is a respected Dante specialist by day and mysterious man by night who unleashes into his twisted inhibitions. Gabriel is charming, sophisticated, intelligent, gorgeous and unattainable. He has a dark past with demons festering inside him. Despite having the good looks Gabriel is arrogant, cruel and demeaning to others. His whole world completely changes once Julianne Mitchell enrolls in his class.
Julianne is a dedicated hopeful graduate student who wants to specialize in Dante’s work. Julianne is beautiful, innocent, inexperience who lacks self esteem. Gabriel is rude and embarrasses Julianne on the first day of class. With Gabriel being the only specialist on campus she has no choice but to be in his class.
There is a twist in the book since Julianne and Gabriel have met before and shared a sweet kiss. Gabriel has trouble with remembering the moment since he was high when they spent time together. Since that moment Julianne has developed a crush on him. Gabriel and Julianne jump into a relationship that puts his career on the line. They have to keep the relationship as a secret and it put them to the test since there is always something to keep them apart. Gabriel’s Inferno is steamy and fervent as Gabriel becomes more human once he is with Julianne.
Throughout the book there are references to Inferno by Dante Alighierl with passages, class discussion and characters. Gabriel has dedicated himself in researching Dante’s work and refers to Julianne as his ‘Beatrice’ who is a character in Inferno. Each character was dynamic and vividly depicted and it’s hard to put the book down with a forbidden love story unfolding.
Gabriel and Julianne’s love story continues with the books Gabriel’s Rapture and Gabriel’s Redemption. Gabriel’s Redemption will be released on December 3, 2013. This trilogy is a must read with it’s passionate renaissance romantic flair and dramatic antics.
