Jennifer Lopez has continued to receive backlash serenading the oppressive president of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, and is now the victim of harsh criticism by the Human Rights Foundation.

As previously reported , Lopez gave the controversial ruler a private performance for his birthday, sparking angry reactions from fans and other knowledgeable of human rights atrocities condoned by Berdymukhamedov.

While Lopez has since apologized for holding the concert, stating she was unaware of the “human rights issues” present in Turkmenistan, the Human Rights Foundation is unwilling to let her forget about her actions.

Claiming Lopez earned "in excess of $10 million for serenading crooks and dictators from Eastern Europe and Russia," the HRF has dismissed Lopez’s excuse in a post published on their website .

“What those covering this story have missed is that J.Lo and her management have misled her fans and the public," the post reads, according to The Huffington Post , "J.Lo has repeatedly mingled with and entertained some of the world’s worst thugs and their cronies. The ‘Jenny-from-the-block-who-doesn't-Google’ clarification may be credible in one instance, but it beggars belief in light of a pattern of repeated behavior. This is not about ignorance, it’s about greed.”

The HRF then sites five performances the singer has given to those the foundation has taken issue, including Russian bureaucrat Alexander Yolkin.

“Performers are frequently blinded by greed and they willfully sidestep reality and become part of the public relations machinery of the world’s worst people,” the post concludes. “They should be disqualified from having any moral standing to opine about matters involving human rights or business ethics.”
