Attorneys for Katherine Jackson, the late King of Pop Michael Jackson’s mother, had fought for intimate letters from Jackson to be admitted in the courtroom during her wrongful death lawsuit against AEG to show the deep love he and his three children had for each other and how much his death has impacted them.
The Jackson family is trying to prove AEG showed negligence by hiring Dr. Conrad Murray as Jackson’s doctor, who is currently in jail for manslaughter.
In one letter, Jackson documented an exchange he had with his son Blanket, then 6. “Words of Blanket my son 6 years young,” he wrote at the top of the paper, NY Daily News reports. “What’s your favorite letters Daddy? Mine is ‘G’ for God and ‘D’ for Daddy.”
Jurors were also shown a handwritten note from Paris Jackson to her father that read, “Dear Daddy, I love you so much & I’m so glad I got a goodnight hug,” Paris wrote. “Sleep well, I love you & good night. I’ll see you tomorrow! XOX Goodnight. Lots of love, Paris Jackson.”
Paris has reportedly taken her father’s death the worst out of the three kids, having attempted suicide last month.
AEG claims they should not be held financially liable for Murray's actions, as Jackson hired the doctor himself.
