Rapper J. Cole has passed Kanye West and Wale on the Billboard album chart to take the No. 1 spot.
Born Sinner debuted at No. 2 behind West's Yeesuz, released the same day three weeks ago. Cole's sophomore album stayed at No. 2 for the 2nd week behind Wale's The Gifted, reported USAToday. The Gifted has fallen to No. 2 and Yeesuz to No. 3. Imagine Dragons' Night Visions made a huge climb from No. 8 to No. 4.
With a total 439,000 copies of Born Sinner sold, J. Cole has beat West in sales by 8,000 copies.
Billboard reported that Cole's jump to the top spot is no small feat as albums hardly rise in the charts past where they debuted at. Also, Cole is still new compared to West who has released six previous album. One of which was Watch the Throne with J. Cole's mentor, Jay-Z.
Born Sinner includes the singles "Power Trip" featuring Miguel and "Crooked Smile" featuring TLC.
