James Blunt announced his new album Moon Landing will be released on Oct. 21 via Atlantic Records.
Tom Rothrock produced the album Music news reports. Rothrock also worked on Blunt’s debut album Back To Bedlam in 2004.
Moon Landing will follow his 2010 album Some Kind of Trouble, which comes as a bit of a shock because Blunt said he was not planning on writing new material any time soon.
“I haven’t got any plans to do more songwriting. I have been chilling since I finished my world tour and I’ve spent a lot of time in Ibiza where I have a villa,” Blunt said.
The album included a track co-written with One Republic’s Ryan Tedder. More details on the album are expected to be released soon.
Since 2004 Blunt has had five Grammy nominations, won many awards, has had four number one singles, and sold almost 17 million albums worldwide Contact Music reports.
“This is a much more personal album, and also quiet back to basics. It’s about me and Tom, the producer, finding where the story all started and where we are now,” Blunt said.
