Jay-Z announced his song “Open Letter” will be released as “playable letter," on Monday.
The song was not included on Jay-Z’s new album Magna Carta Holy Grail but instead it will be released on vinyl through Jack White’s Third Man Records Rolling Stone reports.
“It’s in a letter . . . you can play the letter . . . it’s amazing. You open the letter and you can actually play the card,” Jay-Z told Hot 97.
The track is about Jay-Z’s trip to Cuba with his wife Beyoncé according to The Huffington Post.
“They wanna give me jail time and a fine/ Fine, let me commit a real crime,” he raps.
Then he address the President of the United States, Barack Obama. “Obama said, ‘Chill you’re going to get me impeached’/ You don’t need this shit anyway, chill with me on the beach.”
Third Man records released The Great Gatsby soundtrack, which Jay-Z was executive producer, on gold and platinum vinyl.
“Jack White, you know, aside from being a brilliant musician, he has this vinyl store so he makes these special edition vinyls, and we’re gonna put [‘Open Letter’] on the vinyl,” Jay-Z said.
