Guillermo del Torro’s Pacific Rim hasn’t been doing well with critics that have seen the movie ahead of its release, not to mention its low tracking numbers haven’t helped its case.

The film centers on aliens invading earth, and humans having to build robots called Jaegers to protect themselves. Although the film, which cost more than $180 million to make, could disappoint at the box office, there’s one unlikely person lobbying for its success –Kanye West.

The Yeezus rapper, who rarely tweets, wrote “I saw a pre-screening of Pacific Rim yesterday and it's easily one of my favorite movies of all time.”

He also told his almost 10 million followers, “This is not another "Robot" movie. Guillermo del Toro is a master.”

Pacific Rim will have to compete with Adam Sandler’s Grown Ups 2 when it comes out in theaters on July 12, THR notes. It’s being released by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros.
“We just need to keep working. Our numbers are going up. Not in a minor way. Significant. We are on the right track,” wrote a determined del Toro on Deltorofilms.com.
