A woman in Michigan was caught red-handed as she was videotaped ordering a hit on her husband to an undercover detective.
The 21 year old Julia Charlene Merfeld tells the undercover detective, who she thinks is a hit man, that having her husband, 27, killed would be "easier than divorcing him” and she wouldn’t have to “break his heart.”
Prosecutors released the video, which was taped in April to WZZM-TV 13.
According to USA Today, she offered the “hit man” $50,000 for killing him after she got his $400,000 life insurance policy.
Merfeld has two kids with her husband. She plead guilty in June and her sentencing will be determined on July 30.
Fox51 notes that police were notified by Merfeld’s co-worker, who she told about the plan to have her husband killed.
Meanwhile her husband ironically doesn’t want her to spend any time behind bars, although she can get a minimum of six years in prison for soliciting the murder.
