Lost star Naveen Andrews will find his way to Wonderland as Jafar.
WashingtonPost reported that Andrews surprised Comic-Con fans by joining the panel for ABC’s Once Upon a Time in Wonderland to make the announcement. He will play the evil character of the 1992 Disney classic, Aladdin.
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis worked alongside Andrews on ABC's Lost.
"We absolutely had this character in mind and we knew we wanted Naveen to play it. We asked him he said yes and we said lets save it for Comic-Con," Kitsis explained on EOnline.
Jafar is described by Kitsis as a "very, very, very evil villain" and "very frightening." The Once Upon a Time spinoff will follow Alice into Wonderland.
The panel also brought 20 minutes of the show with them. According to LosAngelesTimes, the Comic-Con crowd was introduced to Alice in a mental institution. She was admitted there for recounting crazy tales of smoking caterpillars, talking bunnies and foods that make you shrink or grow-- the iconic elements of Wonderland. Alice learns that her love, the genie Cyrus, is alive and determines to find him.
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland premieres Thursday, Oct. 8 on ABC.
