Nile Rodgers, The Chic guitarist and a collaborator for Daft Punk was cleared of cancer earlier this week.
The doctors gave the guitarist the all clear for prostate cancer. He was diagnosed with the cancer in 2010 Rolling Stone reports.
“Instead of showing gross internal video I’ll show my doctor’s fly examination room I’M ALL CLAR AGAIN!” Rodgers tweeted.
Then tweeted, All Clear is a lot better than the cancer has returned and it’s spread.”
Rodgers was part of the collaborators in Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and part of touring with Chic across the world Music Week reports. He says working on “Get Lucky” helped with his recovery.
“I was facing life and death issues and then to get something so rewarding as a Number One record is pretty amazing. I think this particular experience rates very high because two years a go I was stricken with cancer just right out of the clear blue sky . . . So I went from having no symptoms to ‘you can die any moment and you have to take this very seriously,” Rodgers said.
When Rodgers found out he said he tried to played as many shows as he could, make as many records possible and hopefully get up every morning to do what he loves.
