Paul McCartney sang with a version of Nirvana on July 19 at the Safeco Field in Seattle.

McCartney played with Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear during his “Out There” North America tour according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The former Beatles star has performed with Nirvana before. Last year they played the ’12-12-12’ Hurricane Sandy benefit concert and performed on Saturday Night Live.

In Seattle, Nirvana’s hometown, they played “Cut Me Some Slack” and Beatles songs including ‘Day Tripper,” “Get Back,” “Helter Skelter,” and “The End” to the 45,000 fans.

“They’re powerful, you know. “It’s a great power to have them on stage with you. I mean, my band’s great – but when you augment it with Nirvana, that’s greater,” McCartney said Rolling Stone reports.

Nirvana joined McCartney during his encore song. During a three-hour set McCartney played an astounding 39 songs.

Rumors of Nirvana reuniting with McCartney have been circulating but there is currently no indication of it happening.
