Paula Deen is making some changes following her fallout surrounding the “n-word” controversy. The celebrity chef has parted ways with her longtime manager, her rep confirmed.
The 66-year-old former Food Network star has dropped agent Barry Weiss after working together for over 10 years.
“Paula Deen has separated from her agent," her spokeswoman Elana Weiss, said on Thursday, The AP reports. "She and her family thank him for the tireless effort and dedication over the many years."
Deen gave no reasoning behind the business split, and has talked about Weiss being the key in landing her show Paula's Home Cooking on the Food Network back in 2003.
In the weeks following admitting under oath that she used the racial slur, Deen was dropped by Food Network, Walmart, Target, Smithfield Foods and more, NY Daily News reports.
Lisa Jackson, Deen’s former employee who brought on the lawsuit, said "This lawsuit has never been about the N-word. It is to address Ms. Deen's patterns of disrespect and degredation of people that she deems to be inferior."
