A 16-year-old boy is awaiting charges after tweeting about having a “bomb” last night during Pink’s concert in Melbourne, Australia.
The boy tweeted, “@Pink I’m ready with my bomb. Time to blowup #RodLaverArena Bitch.” The tweet was later deleted Rolling Stone reports.
The boy was recognized from his Twitter profile picture by the arena staff. He was then arrested by the police and since then has been released.
According to Billboard he told the media today the tweet was a reference to Pink’s song “Timebomb,” a bonus track from The Truth About Love.
“It was meant to be about drop the effects, the music, everything – just drop it all,” he said.
In an interview with the Herald Sun, the boy’s sister comes to his defense.
We had to go there at midnight to sort it out, and we thought we had to bail him; we thought he’d been killed; we didn’t know what to think. He wrote it as in one of her songs it called ‘Timebomb,’ and he forgot to put the ‘Time’ on there,” she said.
Pink is set to play 18 shows at the 15,000 capacity Melbourne arena in the next two months. Pink has also opened her first pop-up store in central Melbourne.
