Grammy Award winner Randy Travis remains sedated and in critical condition after undergoing surgery after suffering a stroke last week.

According to The Associated Press, The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano released a statement saying that the 54-year-old singer is resting comfortably and is under heavy sedation.

His public, Kirk Webster, explained that Travis’ stroke was “a complication of his congestive heart failure” for which he was hospitalized for last week, CNN reports.

It is unclear what type of stroke he suffered. The surgery performed was meant to relieve pressure from Travis’ brain.

Travis’ family and friends continue to ask for prayers and support for the “Forever and Ever, Amen” singer. Country music’s finest have come together on Twitter to urge fans to send their prayers of love and support to Travis.

Brad Paisley, Hilary Scott, Martina McBride and the Grand Ole Opry have taken to social media to send prayers. “#PrayersForRandy” has also become a trending topic.
