Rihanna was booed at the Roskilde festival on July 5 after arriving 30 minutes late.
The “Rude Boy” singer played the Danish festival on the second day. However, the fans didn’t appreciate her arriving late and decided to boo her when she set foot on the Orange Stage NME reported.
Wearing a baseball jersey with the word ‘poison,’ she started her set with “Phresh Out the Runway” and continued with “Birthday Cake” and “Talk That Talk.”
Attempting to get the crowd on her side she said, “Denmark, I love you man. I feel the love, Denmark. I don’t just say these things. There’s just one thing you have to do right now, and that’s to say my name.”
Artist arriving late to perform is not uncommon but fans are becoming increasingly annoyed. Gigwise reports this was shown when fans booed Justin Bieber after arriving two hours late last year.
She ended the performance with a medley that included, “Take a Bow,” “We Found Love,” “S&M,” “Only Girl in the World” and “Don’t Stop the Music.”
Other festival performers included Metallica, Queens of the Stone Age, and Kraftwerk.
