Police in West Virginia arrested physician Robert Ferrante for murdering his wife, Autumn Klein.

Ferrante was a neurologist who worked in a laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh, conducting tests on drugs and chemicals.
Klein was also a neurologist. She worked at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Prosecutors allege that Ferrante used cyanide to murder his wife. Witnesses say that Ferrante bought cyanide on April 15. It was delivered on April 16.
Cyanide is commonly used in laboratory experiments.

The Allegheny County 911 dispatchers received a call from Ferrante on April 17 because Ferrante thought that his wife might be having a stroke. She died in the hospital on April 20.

Ferrante told dispatchers that Klein was "conscious and breathing, but not alert," CNN reports . Paramedics found her on the floor.

Attorney William Difenderfer says that Ferrante was "on his way [to Pittsburg] to turn himself in," the Associated Press reports . Ferrante will waive extradition to Pennsylvania
