"Blurred Lines" is the first single off of Robin Thicke's new studio album of the same name, and it has been listened to by just about everybody by now. Thicke's song set a new record for most radio listeners reached this week.
The song features rappers T.I. and Pharrell, who also produced the song, and as of this week the song has topped the Billboard hot 100 for seven straight weeks, and reached over 240 million listeners on the radio. The latter number shatters the previous record which was just under 190 million reports Hotnewhiphop.
Thicke has been making music for quite a while, but hasn't really had that big hit song until now. Radio.com reports that his new album might just make him a household name as this hit single has created plenty of buzz leading up to the album release.
When asked about how he felt when making the song in the studio with Pharrell, Thicke said "“We felt like maybe it was something special but it was so different, we didn’t know it would be this big."
Thicke also said that he is grateful for the attention he is getting, because now people outside of the industry actually know who he is, and recognize his face.
