Selena Gomez hit her first number one title on the Billboard 200 chart with Stars Dance.
Her albums have grown larger in their debut weeks but Stars Dance sold 97,000 copies in its first week making it the highest sale in its first week of any of Gomez’s albums Billboard reports.
Kiss and Tell sold 66,000 copies and hit number nice in 2009, A Year Without Rain hit number four in 2010, and When the Sun Goes Down hit number three with 78,000 copies in 2011.
Gomez’s singles “Come & Get It” and “Stars Dance” have made top ten on Billboard Hot 100 chart, making the songs her first top ten hits.
Hitting number one makes her the newest youngest solo female artist at 21-years-old since Taylor Swift in 2010.
The singer also bumped Jay-Z’s Magna Carta . . . Holy Grail down to number two with 77,000 copies. The album sat at number one for two weeks MTV reports.
