San Diego Mayor Bob Filner may not have made his smartest move when he dared women to come forward and accuse him directly after allegations that he was sexually harassing his staff came out almost two weeks ago. In fact, it may be his last move; since a former aide came forward to file suit against him, Filner’s political allies are suggesting he step down.

Filner, an engaged 70-year-old divorcee, has publicly admitted to “needing help” in light of the accusations, which filled up an 11-page suit, Reuters reports. But he has declined to step down from office even as the county Sheriff set up a special hotline just for complaints about the mayor.

The first aide who came forward is Filner’s ex-Communications Director Irene McCormack Jackson. Two others have not been identified, but after a heated exchange in which Filner’s deputy chief of staff told Filner that he needed “extreme therapy,” McCormack quit. Before she could leave, Filner reportedly asked McCormack to give on example of his inappropriate behavior. “"How about when you said that I should take my panties off and work without them?” she said according to ABC News. Filner had no reply for this, or accusations that he had used a headlock on employees, groped them, kissed them, used sexually harassing language, and demanded sexual favors.
