Shia LaBeouf was supposed to make his Broadway debut this year alongside Alec Baldwin in Orphans, but then things went horribly wrong. The former Transformers actor couldn’t get along with Baldwin and he was fired. He then continued to release emails on his Twitter page, giving fans an intimate look at how he left the production. Now, LaBeouf is closing the book on the situation, reaching a settlement with producers.

According to The New York Times, the settlement came after LaBeouf filed a grievance with Actors’ Equity union over how he was fired. A spokeswoman for LaBEouf did confirm that he began the grievance process, but didn’t give the Times any further details, such as how far along the process was before the settlement came about.

Producers Robert Cole and Frederick Zollo issued a statement praising LaBeouf’s talent, but did not offer terms of the settlement.

“We regret the circumstances that caused Shia’s departure from Orphans. Shia is a gifted actor whose full preparation to undertake the role of Treat demonstrated his respect and devotion to the play. The parties recognize that neither Mr. LaBeouf nor the producers was at fault,” the statement reads.

LaBeouf signed on for Orphans in December, but was fired in February. The official word was “creative differences,” but a series of tweets and a feud with Baldwin showed that LaBeouf couldn't get along with the 30 Rock actor or director Daniel Sullivan.

Ben Foster replaced LaBeouf and the show began previews as scheduled in March, with LaBeouf in attendance on the first night. Opening night was in April, but the show closed early in May after mixed reviews.

Baldwin didn’t offer a statement on the settlement.
