Saturday Night Live alum Fred Armisen will direct a Kings of Leon show as part of the American Express Unstaged series. Their show at London's Shepherd's Bush on Aug. 9 will be streamed internationally on Vevo and YouTube.
In addition to acting and sketch comedy, Armisen is also a drummer, so he will bring his knowledge about music into his directing skills.
According to The AP, American Express Unstaged puts together bands and noted directors for their series. The Kings of Leon show will be its 13th episode. The most recent stream was Steve Buscemi directing Vampire Weekend.
Rolling Stone notes Armisen announced he was leaving SNL earlier this year after 11 years on the show. He ended his run as his popular character Ian Rubbish.
Kings of Leon’s newest album Mechanical Bull will be available on Sept. 24. They took a break after canceling their 2011 tour abruptly due to problems within the band.
