Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of Secretary of State John Kerry, is now considered to be in fair condition at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Heinz Kerry was flown on Sunday afternoon to the Boston hospital, where she was in critical condition last night.

Heinz Kerry’s illness remains unknown, though she exhibited signs of seizure, according to Boston.

“After conducting tests overnight and this morning, doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital have upgraded Mrs. Teresa Heinz Kerry’s condition from critical to fair,” said Kerry spokesperson Glen Johnson.

“She is undergoing further evaluation, and Secretary of State John Kerry, her son, and other family members remain with Mrs. Heinz Kerry at the hospital in Boston, as they have been since she became ill.”

“The family is grateful for the outpouring of support it has received and aware of the interest in her condition, but they ask for privacy at this time,” the statement said, according to the Boston Globe.

Kerry remained at the hospital on Sunday night until 1 am and returned around 8:45 am on Monday.

“He’s obviously concerned about the well-being of his wife,’’ Johnson said, “but comforted by the sound medical care she’s received.”
