New material from Tool is expected in 2014.
The band’s fifth album was expected to come out sometime this year but drummer Danny Carey doesn’t seem to think that will happen Loud Wire reports.
“Right now, Since we haven’t started tracking stuff at this pint, it’ll be hard,” Carey said. “We could have the record finished by the end of the year – that’s a possibility, but the logistics of getting it manufactured and getting the record company in line and all this stuff, I doubt we’ll be able to get it out before Christmas. We’ll see how it goes. Most likely, it’ll be early 2014.”
Carey added three of the members are busy working away on the new album with singer Maynard James Keenan to join at a later date.
“Stylistically, we’re trying to push things in different ways, but it always comes out sounding like Tool no matter what we’re trying to do,” he said.
The four haven’t released a full-length album since 2006’s 10,000 Days. Rolling Stone reports in 2009 and 2012 the rockers went on tour but fans are anxiously awaiting for new material.
