On April 15, 2013, three bombs went off during the Boston Marathon, killing three and injuring 264. In the days that followed the tragedy, a manhunt ensued for the suspects, identified shortly after video footage was released on April 18 as Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Tamerlan, 26, and his 19-year-old brother evaded authorities until April 19, when they were apprehended after fatally shooting an MIT police officer, hijacking a car, and taking a civilian hostage. A firefight with police began in the early morning of April 19, during which Tamerlan was shot and killed. Dzhokhar was apprehended that evening after being found hiding inside a Watertown resident’s boat.

Though months have passed since the violence, the Boston Bombing is still very much on the mind of Americans, who rallied around the city to support family members of those injured or killed in the senseless act.

Now, as reported by The Celebrity Café , Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is back in the spotlight, having been featured on the August cover of Rolling Stone , a magazine typically devoted to profiling those in the music industry. The cover choice has sparked outrage, with the mayor of Boston calling it “ill-conceived.”

The magazine’s editors have since responded, according to ABC , claiming that the decision to feature Tsarnaev on the cover is one in line with “ Rolling Stone’s long-standing commitment to serious and thoughtful coverage of the most important political and cultural issues of our day.”

Despite a thoughtful response, the Twittersphere is not letting go of the controversy just yet. News anchors, politicians, celebrities, businessmen, and musicians are vocalizing disgust and disappointment in the Rolling Stone cover decision in today’s Top Ten Celebrity Tweets.
